Wisdom Training Academy is a New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) approved security guard training school. We are committed to providing transparent and fair policies in compliance with NYS General Business Law Article 7-A, Section 89-n and all DCJS regulations.

COMPLIANCE STATEMENT

In accordance with DCJS regulations, Wisdom Training Academy does not assess any non-refundable registration fees, deposits, or cancellation fees for state-mandated security guard training courses.

REFUND ELIGIBILITY

Before Class Starts

Students are entitled to a 100% full refund if cancellation occurs at any time prior to the start of instruction.

After Class Starts

Once the instructor begins instruction, refund eligibility is as follows:

8-Hour Annual In-Service Training Course
  • Single 8-hour session: No refund available after instruction begins.
  • Two (2) 4-hour sessions: 50% refund if cancellation occurs after the first 4-hour session begins but before the second 4-hour session starts. No refund after the second session begins.

8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course
  • Single 8-hour session: No refund available after instruction begins.
  • Two (2) 4-hour sessions: 50% refund if cancellation occurs after the first 4-hour session begins but before the second 4-hour session starts. No refund after the second session begins.

16-Hour On-the-Job Training Course
  • Two (2) 8-hour sessions: 50% refund if cancellation occurs after the first 8-hour session begins but before the second 8-hour session starts. No refund after the second session begins.
  • Four (4) 4-hour sessions: Refunds calculated as follows:
    • 75% refund after first session, before second session.
    • 50% refund after second session, before third session.
    • 25% refund after third session, before fourth session.
    • No refund once the fourth session begins.

CANCELLATION PROCEDURES

How to Request a Cancellation

All cancellation and refund requests must be submitted in writing via email at info@wisdomtrainingacademy.com.

If you cancel your appointment directly from the confirmation email you received by clicking the “Change/Cancel Appointment” button, please send us a follow-up email to confirm your cancellation before your scheduled class begins.

Required Information

Your cancellation request must include:

  • Full name as registered.
  • Course name and date you have registered.
  • Reason for cancellation (optional but helpful).

Important Notes

  • Late arrival or non-attendance does not constitute a withdrawal. Students who arrive late or fail to attend without proper written cancellation are not eligible for refunds.
  • Students must notify us of cancellation prior to start of the course to be eligible for any applicable refund.

REFUND PROCESSING

  • Refunds will be processed within 7 to 14 business days from the date of approved cancellation request.
  • Refunds will be issued via the original payment method (credit card, debit card, etc.).
  • Students will receive email confirmation when the refund has been processed.

RESCHEDULING POLICY

Students who need to reschedule rather than cancel:

  • May reschedule to another available class date at no additional charge
  • Must provide written notice at least 24 hours before the scheduled class start time
  • Reschedule requests are subject to seat availability
  • Credit for rescheduling must be used within one (1) month of original registration date

SCHOOL-INITIATED CANCELLATIONS

If Wisdom Training Academy cancels a scheduled course for any reason:

  • Students will receive a 100% full refund or
  • The option to transfer to another available class date at no charge
  • Students will be notified as soon as possible via phone or email

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS

To receive a certificate of completion:

  • Students must be present for 100% of the course instruction time.
  • Students arriving late may not be permitted to enter the class and will need to reschedule.
  • Students who leave early will not receive a certificate and must retake the course.

If a student is unable to complete a course due to circumstances beyond their control:

  • Contact the School Director to discuss make-up sessions
  • Make-up arrangements are subject to availability and approval
  • The same course content must be completed when next offered

ADDITIONAL TERMS

No Job Placement Guarantee

Wisdom Training Academy is not a job placement agency. Completion of our training courses does not guarantee employment, job promotion, or job advancement in the security field.

Exam Performance

We cannot guarantee passing scores or specific score levels on any examination, whether administered by Wisdom Training Academy, DCJS, NYS Department of State, or any other agency.

Policy Updates

This refund policy is subject to change to maintain compliance with DCJS regulations and NYS law. Students will be notified of any material changes. The policy in effect at the time of registration governs that enrollment.
